Candidates with substantial teaching, professional, and/or leadership experience may be considered for appointment at the Associate Teaching Professor level. We seek an outstanding educator with a strong passion for teaching, a demonstrated commitment to student success, and the ability to deliver high-quality instruction across the fundamental required courses in industrial engineering. The department’s current list of required undergraduate-level courses can be found here. In addition, preference will be given to candidates who can teach in high-demand and forward-looking areas such as, but not limited to, applications of artificial intelligence in industrial engineering, engineering management, supply chain and logistics, and related emerging areas, as well as candidates with experience designing and delivering experiential, project-based, or practice-oriented learning courses. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist with the Teaching Associate Professor title candidates must possess teaching experience.Key Job Responsibilities:Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of studyCollaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the disciplineDevelops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instructionContributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentationsFacilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performanceContributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unitMay supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instructionDepartment:College of Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISyE)Compensation:The starting salary for the position is $75,000 (but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications). This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax-advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund.
