Please do not apply here, apply internally through Workday.If you are NOT a current employee or student, please click “Apply” and complete the application process for external applicants. Approval of remote and hybrid work is not guaranteed regardless of work location. For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see Notice to Out of State Applicants.  JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSThe Department of Statistics has multiple vacancies available for students to serve as Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTA).Courses may include:STAT 200 - Elementary StatisticsSTAT 240 - Introduction to BiometrySTAT 318 - Elementary ProbabilitySTAT 319 - Applied Statistics in ScienceSTAT 401 - Experimental MethodsSTAT 414 - Introduction to Probability TheorySTAT 415 - Introduction to Mathematical StatisticsSTAT 416 - Stochastic ModelingSTAT 418 - Introduction to Probability and Stochastic Processes for EngineeringSTAT 460 - Intermediate Applied StatisticsSTAT 461 - Analysis of VarianceSTAT 462 - Applied Regression AnalysisSTAT 463 - Applied Time Series AnalysisSTAT 466 - Survey SamplingSTAT 480 - Introduction to SASSTAT 483 - Statistical Analysis System Programming. Statistic UTA’s will be involved with the grading of assignments for a given class based on a scoring rubric developed by the supervising faculty member. These might include daily problems, quizzes, pre-lab assignments, or laboratory reports. Qualified applicants should have taken the course they will be grading and earned at least a B+ or better and must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Also, they should have good communication and interpersonal skills, be reliable and organized and have excellent time management skills.Preference will be given to students majoring or minoring in Statistics.
