Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort. POSITION SPECIFICS​Academic Course Coordinator – Senior Support The Smeal College of Business, Marketing Department, is seeking to fill the role of Academic Course Coordinator – Senior Support, who will support large-format MKTG 301 courses with approximately 2,000 students per academic year.The Academic Course Coordinator – Senior Support provides advanced instructional and operational support for MKTG 301 faculty. This role demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of course coordination practices, instructional systems, and academic policies, applying this expertise to decision-making and problem-solving.The coordinator works with minimal supervision on complex and varied assignments, proactively identifying issues and implementing effective solutions. This includes developing systems to track teaching assistants, managing student inquiries, and addressing recurring course challenges. The role communicates clearly and effectively with faculty, teaching assistants, and students, and continuously improves course delivery and support through thoughtful, data-informed approaches.This position will also contribute to departmental programming and new initiatives and perform other duties as assigned in support of department operations.For full consideration, applicants must submit a resume/CV and cover letter.Primary ResponsibilitiesCourse Operations & Instructional SupportProvide comprehensive coordination with faculty for assigned courses, including planning, scheduling, and executionManage course materials, assignments, announcements, and resources within Canvas and related systemsEnsure course delivery platforms are accurate, organized, and user-friendlyIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance clarity and efficiency for students and instructional staffTeaching Assistant (TA) ManagementRecruit, hire, onboard, train, and supervise teaching assistantsFoster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive TA team environmentDevelop and manage systems to track TA assignments, grading workflows, and performanceFacilitate regular communication and training to promote consistency and instructional best practicesStudent Support & CommunicationServe as a primary point of contact for student inquiries and course-related concernsDevelop structured approaches for tracking and responding to common student issuesMeet with students as needed to provide academic support, guidance, and grade review assistanceResolve routine concerns independently and escalate complex or sensitive issues appropriately, applying institutional policies and sound judgment.Data, Reporting & Continuous ImprovementMaintain course data including rosters, participation metrics, and gradesTrack and analyze trends in student inquiries and recurring issues across the semestersPerform summary statistical analysis of grades, surveys, and course evaluationsProvide actionable insights and recommendations to faculty to improve course deliveryCollaboration & PartnershipWork closely with faculty, department staff, and college/university partners throughout the academic yearCoordinate with units such as Undergraduate Studies and other academic support servicesEnsure effective, consistent communication across faculty, TAs, and studentsAssist with the development, coordination, and implementation of departmental programming and new initiativesPerform other duties as assigned in support of course, department, and college operationsProfessional StandardsUphold academic integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality while modeling fairness, accountability, and ethical decision-makingWork with minimal supervision, exercising strong independent judgment to organize, prioritize, and manage day-to-day course operationsDemonstrate sound judgment in assessing people and situations, making decisions that are fair, principled, and perceptiveCommunicate clearly and effectively across audiences, ensuring accurate, consistent, and thoughtful exchangesMaintain a high level of organization and attention to detail while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and process refinementRequired QualificationsRequires an associate degree or higher plus four (4) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage complex academic or administrative processesPreferred QualificationsExperience working in higher education or academic program coordinationExperience performing summary statistical analysisProficiency with:Micr
