You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.A Day in the LifeAs the Category Manager-IT Services you will:Create value across the entire portfolio of ~$250M of IT Services spendWork to build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliersSupport sourcing strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantage for MedtronicOperational management of preferred suppliers – reporting & tracking of spend with priority suppliers, monitoring performance metrics, and overall facilitation of the purchase processSupport IT purchase process, supplier relationship management activities and strategic supplier programs with IT Services partners, in collaboration with IT Vendor Management OfficeAchieve year-on-year value improvement targets for all aspects of service, innovation, and costLead & Support RF(x) events to drive competitive pressure and ensure maximum value is realizedLead & Support strategic contract negotiations for large-scale engagements with sophisticated external partnersEngage and influence multiple stakeholders to adopt and implement strategies developed by the category team; Medtronic is a highly matrixed organization and having the ability to influence and leverage the matrix is a key requirementInteract and partner with IT, Legal, and other key stakeholder groupsRecommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to leadershipAdvise internal stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilities and advocate for their interestsGather market intelligence and industry trends; ability to use market benchmarking to justify and rationalize deal terms to Medtronic cross-functional teams / leadershipRecommend solutions to business problems and identify opportunities for improvementEducate and train stakeholders on key indirect supply management initiatives and policiesWork alongside experienced and motivated colleagues who are collaborative, creative and know how to have fun.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree requiredMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceNice to HaveBachelor’s degree, any major; we’re looking for critical thinkers and we recognize that that skill is developed from many diverse educational experiencesMinimum 5 years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Management, Procurement, Category Management, Finance, IT / Shared Services or any functional experience that developed analytical skills and commercial acumenAbility to partner and influence senior leadershipDemonstrated leadership, customer service, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, judgment, and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication with strong program management skillsExperience influencing and leading internal teams and external suppliers to deliver resultsAptitude to prioritize and juggle many high-visibility projects at the same timeAbility to manage and influence stakeholdersIndirect sourcing experience (IT Services, Professional Services, Financial Services, Legal Services)Experience working in a large global organizationExperience reviewing and drafting legal agreements Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.   Benefits & CompensationMedtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits PackageA commitment to our employees lives at the core of our values.
