In fact, we run our company with that principle in mind every day: One of our core values is fun.About the RoleWorkday is looking for an experienced and driven Sr. Express Sourcing Manager to lead and mentor a team of sourcing specialists (with a software and technology focus) within our fast-paced procurement organization. In this dual role, you will combine strong leadership skills with hands-on sourcing expertise. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of Express Sourcing Specialists while also contributing individually to the execution of high-volume, low-to-medium dollar sourcing projects.  The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a proven track record in procurement, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing talent.About YouLeadership & Team Management:Supervise and mentor a team of Express Sourcing Specialists, providing guidance, support, and performance feedbackFoster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharingDelegate tasks effectively, monitor progress, and ensure team members meet performance expectations (Individual Contribution Goals and SLAs)Identify training and development needs for team members and facilitate their professional growthContribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.Individual Contributor Responsibilities:Execute sourcing projects in alignment with category-level strategies and established processesSupport the creation, review, and negotiation of contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditionsNegotiate with suppliers on pricing, service level agreements, and other key commercial and legal terms to maximize savings and achieve defined goalsConduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential supplier-related risksExecute RFQs and bids to identify the best-value suppliersPrioritize the utilization of preferred and existing suppliers whenever possibleMeet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for project completion and efficiencyMaintain accurate and up-to-date information in procurement systemsCritical Skills:Contract Knowledge: In-depth understanding of contract terms, conditions, and legal implicationsNegotiation: Proven ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers, including complex scenarios, to achieve optimal outcomesProgram Management: Strong project management skills to oversee multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesLeadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of procurement professionalsRisk Management: Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks associated with suppliers and contractsBusiness & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, build strong relationships with suppliers, and influence decision-makingRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field8+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or team lead roleProven track record of successfully managing and developing a team.Proficiency in procurement systems and toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong preference for software and technology related sourcing experienceBonus Points:Experience with e-procurement platformsFamiliarity with specific industry regulationsRelevant certifications (e.g., Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
