Raytheon UK is committed to health, safety and environmental compliance with UK regulations and Corporate EHS Standards and driving improvements to our performance.We are looking for an EHS Generalist to join our UK EHS team.  The EHS Generalist provides support to the EHS and Facilities Team, as well as guidance to management and employees across the business.The successful candidate will be committed to providing great service with the ability to build strong relationships across the business; be an excellent communicator, comfortable both in group settings and presenting to colleagues and committees across the business; be experienced in balancing a diverse workload with attention to detail and deadlines; and committed to their continuous professional development.This role is site based and has multi sites within the region.  Additional support may be required at other Raytheon UK locations and will therefore require travel and potential overnight stays.Skills and Experience EducationAppropriate professional qualification at a minimum NEBOSH General CertificateEnvironmental qualification or equivalentChemical background/ awareness of chemical management systems preferredEssentialKnowledge and experience of working within the parameters ISO14001 and ISO 45001Detailed knowledge of UK Statutory regulation concerning Environment, Health and SafetyWorking knowledge of General and Hazardous waste hierarchyGood understanding of COSHH and all associated requirementsPrevious experience in relation to Health and Safety Training and creation of content, ensuring audit ready at all timesRelevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environmentProficient at report writing, creating and presenting presentations using Microsoft office tools (in particular: Excel, Word and PowerPoint)Project management experienceHigh level of initiative and committed to meeting goalsMember of a relevant recognised industry professional body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM) or working towardsand analytical skillsCurrent holder of or eligibility to obtain MoD Secret (SC) level security clearanceDesirableWillingness to enhance existing knowledge and qualifications and obtain an auditing qualification (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)Responsibilities Working on various projects with the EHS team, act as the lead and prepared to present out plans to key stakeholdersDemonstrate initiative in developing EHS programmes and initiating change processesDevelop a good understanding of the EHS management system in line with legal requirements and corporate standardsProvide EHS advice and guidance, using escalation techniques when requiredWorking knowledge of risk assessment and initiating action plansPoint of contact and lead in ensuring compliance to COSHH regulations throughout UKLead and participate in audits, inspections and incident investigations, in any area of the site, which may involve using a ladder, working at height as well as physically accessing confined, underground and roof spacesPrepare and present at site EHS committee meetings, attend and support functional EHS Committee meetingsWorking knowledge and understanding of Environmental compliance, chair Sustainability team meetings and work together driving improvements and compliance in line with legislative, ISO standards and Raytheon corporate requirementsEnsure all documentation is available to present to legal compliance auditor for Environmental and Health and Safety AuditsAssistance with site compliance and completion of compliance tasksParticipates in continuous improvement activities applying CORE principlesKeeps up to date with EHS requirementsReport writing on EHS related issues and performance objectives and metricsAbility to work to timescales, achieve personal goals and contribute to team effectivenessBenefits and Work CultureBenefitsCompetitive salaries.25 days holiday + statutory public holidays, plus opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days (37hr)Contributory Pension Scheme (up to 10.5% company contribution)Company bonus scheme (discretionary).6 times salary ‘Life Assurance’ with pension.Flexible Benefits scheme with extensive salary sacrifice schemes, including Health Cashplan, Dental, and Cycle to Work amongst others.Enhanced sick pay.Enhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity & shared parental leave.Work Culture37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements.Early finish Friday, start your weekend early!A grownup flexible working culture that is output, not time spent at desk, focussed.
