In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise integration solutions across real-time, batch, and streaming platforms. You will be responsible for defining scalable, secure, and resilient integration architectures leveraging MuleSoft, Kong API Gateway, Informatica IDMC, and Kafka. If you have strong architectural leadership, hands-on expertise in modern integration patterns, and the ability to align integration strategy with enterprise data and application ecosystems, we want to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement enterprise integration architecture across API, batch, and streaming paradigmsDesign API-led connectivity architectures using MuleSoft and REST/GraphQL standardsEstablish integration patterns including event-driven, message-based, and batch processing architecturesArchitect secure and scalable API ecosystems using Kong (API Gateway/Management)Lead development and governance of integrations across MuleSoft (Anypoint Platform), Kafka, and Informatica IDMCDrive alignment with enterprise integration standards, frameworks, and reusable assetsOversee end-to-end integration solution delivery across multiple teams and platformsEnsure implementation of best practices in CI/CD for integration services, monitoring, logging, and observability, and error handling and resiliency patternsCollaborate with product teams, data engineers, and application architects to translate requirements into scalable solutionsEstablish API governance covering security, versioning, lifecycle, and documentationEnforce standards for authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)Maintain integration catalogs, runbooks, and architecture artifactsDrive adoption of reusable integration frameworks and patternsEvaluate emerging integration technologies and recommend adoption strategiesLead architecture reviews, POCs, and modernization initiativesContribute to enterprise-wide transformation toward event-driven and API-first architectureQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum 6+ years of experience in architecture roles focused on application and data integrationStrong experience in both real-time integration (APIs, events, streaming) and batch integration (ETL/ELT, data pipelines)MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API design, RAML/OpenAPI, API-led connectivity)Kong API Gateway / API ManagementApache Kafka / Confluent (event streaming, pub-sub patterns)Informatica IDMC (Data Integration, batch pipelines, ETL/ELT)API protocols: REST, SOAP, GraphQL (preferred)Messaging & integration patterns: MQ, event-driven, CDC, ESB-style flowsCloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and microservices architecture (preferred)PreferredExperience in pharma/life sciences or regulated industries (nice-to-have)Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data platformsStrong stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration skillsAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionJoin our company and be part of a team that uses the power of leading-edge science to save and improve lives around the world.This document contains AI-generated content.Who we are: We are known as Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, New Jersey, USA in the United States and Canada and MSD everywhere else.
