As a digital innovation leader, we invest into our solutions, processes, systems, and talent.Summary:Work as a senior member of automation center of excellence team to execute the overall quality plan for Charles River’s products. Provide support and assistance to customers and other teams within Charles River.The candidate should be a sharp automation framework engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a solid automation test framework building foundation. This role requires a talented, detail oriented, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about quality with the ability to grasp tough issues quickly and deliver well engineered, high-quality solutions.We are looking for a strong software engineer to build out the next generation of our software test automation framework, pipeline and infrastructure as part of our Quality Assurance Infrastructure team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting the software infrastructure that enables automated product validation. This position provides services for planning and the execution of central automated regression runs for all product departments. In addition, this candidate is responsible for maintaining and expanding the labs which host both automated and manual testing as well as conducting staging and certification of the product media during the ship-stage of a release.Financial services industry experience is preferred.Responsibilities:Work closely with the scrum master, product owner, architect, business analysts, product specialists, developers and other project team members to assist in carrying out the software quality responsibilities of the Scrum teamExpand the test automation framework capabilities needed to comprehensively test business requirements for all products and servicesCreate pipelines to execute automated functional, integration, regression, and performance testsMaintain automated and manual test script libraries for functional, integration, regression, and performance testingAlign with the Software Development Life Cycle practices, comply with Information Security and Data Governance practicesInterpret results of automation tests and document software defects in issue tracking system; proactively communicate issues with developers and other project team membersProvide testing leadership by identifying opportunities for improvement in the Scrum team’s QA methodology, innovate by researching and recommending new approaches to automation of testing, including use of Artificial IntelligenceAdhere to a testing schedule to ensure efficient and effective product deliveryActively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectivesParticipate in “testathon” activities as required by releasesGuide and mentor junior staff in best practices and proper creation of automated test scripts.Qualifications:Education:B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.Experience: 2 - 4 years of experience in building and supporting test automation frameworks in an enterprise, process-driven environmentStrong programming skills in JAVA, C# , shell scripting languages such as PowerShell and BashHands-on experience implementing automation tools and framework with industry standard tools like Rest Assured, Playwright, Azure SDK, Kafka SDK, Cosmos DB, Swagger, Silk4Net, FlaUI, Talend strongly preferredDemonstrated experience implementing and executing automation test scripts against web, native/desktop applications, APIs and batch applications.Experience with creating and updating on-demand pipelines and experience with relevant tools TeamCity, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD is preferredDemonstrated experience using test cases, scripts, and automated test tools for verifying requirements on multi-tier applicationsDemonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plansKnowledgeable in one or more CRD functional areas is a plusA minimum of 3 years working with an Agile development methodology strongly desiredEffective written and verbal communication.Employees are expected to work from the office 2 days a week.Salary Range: $65,000 - $113,750 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
