Who we are looking forWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Director, International Tax Planning, to join our Corporate Tax team. This role is responsible for a broad range of international corporate tax planning matters, including legal entity structuring and funding, advising on M&A transactions, and overseeing our US-based international tax compliance and provision teams.The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and self-starter with deep expertise in U.S. and international tax matters, and the ability to effectively partner with senior leadership across the organization.Why this role is important to usThe team you will be joining plays an important role in the overall success of the organization. Join us if making your mark in the financial services industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.What you will be responsible forAs Managing Director, International Tax Planning, you will:Work closely with Corporate Tax senior management to develop sustainable strategies to manage State Street’s effective tax ratePartner with senior management across Finance and Legal to provide tax advice on U.S.-based and global business initiativesAdvise on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactionsResearch and analyze complex U.S. and international tax issues related to planning initiativesOversee and mentor our team of U.S-based international tax compliance and provision specialistsSupport audit activities and ensure appropriate documentation of tax positionsWhat we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilitiesExcellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholdersDeep analytical and research expertise in U.S. and international tax mattersProven project management skills across cross-functional teamsAbility to operate independently and as a collaborative partnerStrong interpersonal skills with experience working across geographic regionsEducation & Preferred QualificationsJD, CPA, MBA, or Master’s in Tax with strong academic credentials15+ years of experience at a U.S. law firm, public accounting firm, multinational corporation, or combination thereofSignificant experience advising U.S.-based multinational organizationsWorking knowledge of FAS 109 and FIN 48Financial services industry experience preferred but not requiredDemonstrated ability to partner with senior management and stakeholders globallySalary Range: $170,000 - $282,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
