UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.POSITION HIGHLIGHTSHYBRID work opportunity - Position is primarily remote, but will require onsite work for projects (Current UW IT Services employees can continue to work 100% remote if they are currently doing so)15 days of vacation your first year – Also, 12 days of sick time, 1 personal holiday, and 11 paid holidays each year100% matching, 100% immediately vesting 403(b)PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESYou manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of businessYou handle full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneouslyYou manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectivesYou report on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activitiesYou prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the projectYou procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframesYou manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetingsYou develop with stakeholders KPIs for projects, programs, and/or portfoliosYou understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs in order to help team(s) achieve organizational goals/objectivesYou provide onsite leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestonesREQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in a healthcare-oriented profession, a technology field, a business-related field, or other discipline that demonstrates analytical or communications abilities, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience5+ years of overall experience to include the below:5+ years of experience serving in a project leadership role with responsibility for managing progressively more complicated vendor-packaged system deployment and/or process improvement projects3+ years of recent experience utilizing MS Project to manage projectsDemonstrated experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding all teams accountable for performanceDemonstrated leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations/business unitsDemonstrated experience effectively working with multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex project environment within a cross-functional matrix environmentDemonstrated experience managing project work and/or work of others within an established standard project lifecycle frameworkStrong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of managementStrong experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget closeStrong experience in SDLC, Waterfall, and Agile Project MethodologiesExperience negotiating vendor contractsExperience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessaryExperience maintaining relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectivesExperience influencing and gaining buy-in from executive sponsors, team members, stakeholders and peersExperience researching best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and using continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve resultsABOUT UW MEDICINE – WHERE YOUR IMPACT GOES FURTHERUW Medicine is Washington’s only health system that includes a top-rated medical school and an internationally recognized research center.
