Job Title:Professional Practice Associate ProfessorDepartment:Engineering | Computer Science and EngineeringProfessional Practice Associate ProfessorDepartment of Computer Science and EngineeringCollege of EngineeringThe Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Ohio State University invites applications for an open rank professional practice (non-tenure-track) faculty appointment.Position OverviewThese are untenured clinical-track five-year contract faculty positions.Responsibilities for these positions include developing, enhancing, and teaching courses and academic programs across the computer science curriculum. In addition, the faculty members will participate in activities that increase the outreach and engagement of the department. The faculty members are also expected to contribute to the functioning of the department through service activities such as participation on departmental committees.Performance ObjectivesAssistant-level Appointment Potential for excellence in teaching and in the adoption and promotion of best practices in teaching; Potential for leadership in the design of course curricula and programs, Potential for leadership in the support of extracurricular student activities and organizations; Potential for leadership in service in education, both within and outside the university.Associate/Full AppointmentA strong record in teaching courses and in adopting and promoting best teaching practicesA strong record in academic program developmentA strong record of service and leadership in their field.A strong record of mentorship (students or employees).Education and Experience RequirementsRequired: A Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related computing field. Ph.D. must be completed by the time of appointment.
