POSITION SPECIFICSThe Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), College of Health and Human Development (HHD), at The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for a Human Research Technologist - Health and Medicine position at the University Park campus.The position will coordinate an NIH-funded multi-disciplinary project focusing on speech and language function in persons with dysarthria secondary to ALS (PALS). The final candidate will ensure smooth operations, adherence to timelines, and compliance with regulatory requirements.RESPONSIBILITIESOrganize and coordinate the project; track project progress and prepare progress reportsCoordinate communications across the research team regarding project-related tasksCoordinating recruitment and scheduling of participantsPrepare participants for sessions and provide necessary equipment to facilitate testingPerform clinical screening of eligible participants and administer clinical tests as part of the study protocolDevelop, review, and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentsFacilitate data collection and managementServe as liaison with the University’s Institutional Review Board OfficeMaintain internal procedures and quality controlAssist with team, University, and funding agency project reportsSupervise graduate and undergraduate research assistantsQUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate should have excellent written communication skills, be detail-oriented, be able to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team, and have excellent organizational and time management skills.PREFERED QUALIFICATIONSASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLPExperience working on research projects, data organization and analyses, and familiarity with IRB processes and regulatory compliance.
