Job Description SummaryAs skilled Mechanic you will be required to work to specified Manual limits and required tolerances. In this role you will be required to work as part of skilled team in the task of Assembly/Disassembly of Aircraft Engines. Additionally, the role requires motivated people for supporting and continuing to drive improvements within your assigned area in GE Caledonian.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities Each role will be working within a team and therefore the ability to work well with others is essentialThe role involves working to specified Manuals and Engineering instructionsGood hand skills through previous experience in an Engineering disciplinePractical or working knowledge of calibrated measuring equipmentAbility to carry out complex tasks which include disassembly/assembly of aero engine modules and/or components to defined specification (training will be given)Role involves a rotating three shift pattern consisting of Nightshift/Backshift/DayshiftIdentifying and implementing process improvementsIdentify and hold responsibility for Quality and Environmental Health & Safety issuesQualifications/Requirements Must have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship or Mechanical apprenticeship with relevant industry experienceDesirableRelevant Gas Turbine Engine overhaul experiencePrevious experience within an aviation environment would be advantageousGood understanding and working knowledge of computer based applicationsPrevious experience with SAP advantageousPrevious Experience using OEM Shop ManualsExperience of working in a line maintenance EnvironmentExcellent communication skills, the ability to get on with colleagues and communicate priorities as requiredComputer literateDemonstrate their ability to work as an effective team player, taking ownership and accountability for quality and EHS standardsDemonstrate personal drive and motivation to identify and implement process improvementDemonstrate experience of working in a maintenance/overhaul environment and be familiar with materials processingDemonstrate the ability to work from technical drawings/manualsDemonstrate good manual dexterityFlexible WorkingGE Aerospace supports and encourages flexible working arrangements, where possible, and recognises the benefits to employees of having a positive work-life balance.Total Reward At GE Aerospace we understand the importance of Total Reward.
