Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

AdventHealth Medical Group Critical Care is seeking experienced Physician Assistants and Acute Care APRNs to join their expanding closed ICU programs across Central and West Florida. This role offers clinical autonomy, strong physician collaboration, and the opportunity to deliver high-acuity, evidence-based care to critically ill patients. Experienced APPs who are confident in managing complex critical care patients and desire to work at the top of their scope are encouraged to apply. Practice Info Expanding closed ICU programs Deeply integrated into the ICU care model Collaborate closely with Intensivists in a closed ICU environment Current campuses hiring include Tampa, Carrollwood, Port Charlotte, Ocala, with additional locations coming soon Responsibilities Independently evaluate and manage critically ill ICU patients under physician supervision Perform comprehensive histories and focused physical exams with advanced clinical reasoning Order, interpret, and act on complex diagnostic and laboratory data Lead management of acute decompensation and initiate emergent interventions Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians Perform advanced ICU procedures, including Central venous and arterial line placement, and advanced airway management Actively participate in quality improvement efforts, performance initiatives, and clinical research Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for nursing staff and learners as appropriate Compensation CME allowance to support ongoing professional growth Benefits Health benefits starting Day 1 Annual personal leave Shift & Schedule 14 shifts per month 12-hour shifts: 7 - 7 Nights required Requirements Master's Degree in Nursing with Acute Care Certification (APRN), or Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (Required) APRN: 1-3 years of recent ICU experience PA: 3+ years of ICU experience, or 5+ years in a surgical or critical care-adjacent specialty Active, unrestricted Florida APRN or PA-C license Acute Care Certification (APRN required) BLS and ACLS required FCCS and/or ATLS strongly preferred No visa sponsorship available
