Description About the Role: NGEN represents the largest IT services program for the Navy. Our team at Leidos is integral to delivering critical components of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet. This includes cybersecurity, network operations, service desk support, and data transport. We are looking for a dedicated Mid-Level Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic Field Services team. This role, located at a government site in Washington, DC, involves providing essential desk-side support to our customers by troubleshooting and repairing IT devices. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for up to 100 feet at a time. - Ability to lift 25 lbs. vertically using ladders. - Comfortable working in confined spaces such as raised floors or communications closets. - Ability to work in noisy environments like data centers and operations areas. - Must be able to stand or sit for up to 8 hours at a time. - Utilize hand tools like screwdrivers and wrenches for equipment rack mounting. - Normal color vision is required to identify wire colors; vision must be correctable to 20/20 or better to read digital test equipment. - Must be able to drive to various locations as needed (valid state license required). Key Responsibilities: - Manage customer ticket resolution in line with established Service Level Requirements (SLRs). - Ensure adherence to ticket-handling guidelines. - Troubleshoot and resolve users' computer issues, covering both hardware and software. - Complete customer-related tasks within designated timelines. - Assist in resolving issues with local and networked Multi-Function Devices, printers, and other hardware. - Collaborate with fellow technicians to address complex challenges. Qualifications: - Must be a US Citizen and possess a DoD Secret Clearance. - High school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience; additional education or certifications may be considered. - Valid DoD 8570 IAT Level II: Security+ or higher Certification required. - Demonstrated expertise in IT Enterprise Operations. - Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, version 11. - Familiarity with HP Service Manager, Remedy, or other ticket management software. - Basic network troubleshooting skills. - Strong customer service capabilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Organized and detail-oriented. - Strong leadership abilities. - Self-motivated and independent. - Capable of collaborating, prioritizing, and adapting to changing environments. - Aptitude for relationship building. - Ability to manage and prioritize work for self and team. - Effective decision-making and analytical thinking skills.
