Sr. Security Analyst (Incident Response)

Title: Security Analyst III Location: Hybrid in Spring, TX, 77389 (Tues–Thurs onsite | Mon/Fri remote) Duration: 12-month contract-to-hire Work Requirements: US Citizens, GC Holders, or Authorized to Work in the U.S. Position Summary We are seeking a Security Analyst III to join our client’s Cyber Defense team as a senior-level individual contributor focused on incident response, detection optimization, and security operations excellence. This position is intended for someone with strong hands-on experience managing and responding to complex security incidents while continuously improving security tooling, processes, and operational effectiveness. This is not a monitoring-only role — we are looking for someone who can elevate the maturity of the security program. Responsibilities Incident Response Lead and coordinate cybersecurity incident investigations Perform containment, remediation, and recovery activities Conduct root cause analysis and document findings Support forensic investigations when necessary Security Operations Optimization Tune alerts and improve detection quality Enhance SOC processes and operational workflows Improve team efficiency and reduce alert fatigue Support security monitoring improvements Threat Detection & Engineering Perform threat hunting activities Investigate suspicious behaviors and indicators of compromise Improve detection logic and visibility across the environment Platform Administration & Security Tooling Operate within enterprise security platforms Support ongoing security posture improvements Provide recommendations for process and tooling enhancements Required Qualifications 5+ years of cybersecurity experience Strong incident response and SOC background Experience leading investigations from intake through resolution Strong understanding of endpoint, network, email, and cloud security Experience improving security operations environments Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Process improvement mindset Comfortable operating independently and driving outcomes Technical Qualifications Core Platforms: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Defender for Servers Microsoft Sentinel Defender XDR Defender CSPM Additional Preferred Experience: Proofpoint OpenDNS Threat Intelligence Platforms Dark web monitoring Threat hunting methodologies Ideal Candidate Senior-level incident responder Location: Hybrid () Contract: Contract-to-hire Our benefits package includes: Comprehensive medical benefits Competitive pay, 401(k) Retirement plan …and much more!
