Job Title:HVAC AssistantFull- or Part-Time:Full timeExempt or Non-Exempt:NoHourly Rate:25.90 USD HourlyDepartment:Campus Facilities-Maintenance (PM) (Mark EngelhartJob Description:Workdays: Saturday - WednesdayShift: 9:00am-5:30pmHourly wage: $25.90-30.80 per hour based on the Support Staff Association ContractJOB SUMMARY: To maintain, repair, install, and perform preventative maintenance on heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air conditioning units and systems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair boilers and refrigeration systems.Maintain, install, and repair heating and ventilating units; may include heating and cooling coils, preheaters, dampers, and duct work.Install and repair HVAC control systems, pneumatic and electric.Repair and install broad-based cooling systems.Inspect, install, and repair piping fixtures and equipment; may include pumps, valves, heaters, piping and fittings.Lubricate fans, motors, and pumps, and change filters and belts.Cut, thread, and assemble pipe using saw, pipe cutter, and threader.Fabricate and assemble tubing using saw, benders, and torch.Test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic test equipment.Insulate lines, components, and storage tanks.Clean HVAC systems.Maintain logs and records of temperatures, running times, and maintenance on HVAC systems.Test and treat cooling towers and boilers to maintain chemical treatment levels.  RELATED DUTIES:Conduct scheduled rounds inspections and emergency service calls on campus.Assist other maintenance personnel as required.Assist in the maintenance of campus facilities;
