The Institutional Assistant will facilitate age-appropriate, consistent, and high-quality SEWL sessions at assigned school and community sites. Staffing this role ensures grant compliance and strengthens the university's commitment to youth development and community engagement, aligning with our institutional mission. The position renewal is contingent upon continued grant funding and satisfactory job performance. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degreePREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Familiarity with social-emotional learning principles and child/youth behavior management strategies.2 years experience working with children in an educational, afterschool, or youth development setting.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement and coordinate SEWL sessions at partner sites, managing logistics and serving as the primary site contact.Provide feedback on content, collaborate on program adaptation, pilot new activities, and stay updated on best practices.Lead engaging SEWL sessions, foster positive student relationships, and adapt delivery based on real-time needs.Supervise and mentor site-based staff, providing direction and promoting a collaborative, child-centered environment.Reinforce positive behavioral strategies, collaborate on interventions, and document student behavior trends.Maintain accurate attendance and behavior records, submit reports, and track progress toward student goals.Build strong relationships with school staff, participate in wellness meetings, and represent the SEWL program professionally.Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, & SKILLS: Knowledge of the operational practices of the Little Rock School District, particularly of UALR Community Programs partner schools.
