About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive innovation and technical excellence within Workforce Technology. This role will own the architecture, optimization, and end‑to‑end lifecycle management of enterprise archival platforms such as Theta Lake, Verba, and ZL, while leading workflow orchestration and DevOps enablement. Strong collaboration with business stakeholders is critical to delivering scalable, reliable, and impactful solutions to complex operational needs.In this role, you will:Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impactAct as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplinesDesign, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programsReview and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factorsMake decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesCollaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goalsLead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentorRequired Qualifications:5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationRequired Qualifications for Europe, Middle East & Africa only:Experience in Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education8+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationSolid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance best practices5+ years of strong development proficiency in .Net,C#, jQuery, HTML,CSS technologies and for data engineering tasks5+ years of strong development experience with databases, SQL, and AI technologies3+ years of strong experience on ZL, Verba , Theta Lake.Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance and best practicesEnsure clear communication and timely resolution of client-impacting issues efficientlyFamiliarity with Agile/scrum methodologies and tools like Jira, DevOps etc.Design and develop enterprise-grade applications using .NET Core, REST APIs and MicroservicesArchitect scalable, high-performance backend systems and implement clean architecture, layered architecture, and domain-driven design.Ensure code quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.Lead CI/CD implementation and DevOps integration and Production support and performance optimizationImplement data validation and transformation logic with Optimized queries and data models for performanceEnsure data quality and reconciliation processes and integrate with external APIs and data sourcesLead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impactAct as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplinesReview and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factorsMake decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesCollaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goalsLead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentorDesired Qualifications:Strong experience in C#, .NET Core, WebAPI, Clean Architecture, Event-driven programmingStrong knowledge of OOP, SOLID, Design PatternsEntity Framework / DapperExperience with Microservices ArchitectureExperience in distributed systemsData Warehouse & Data SkillsStrong SQL skills (complex queries, indexing, optimization)Experience with SQL Server / PostgreSQL / OracleExperience with Data Warehousing conceptsCloud & Platform SkillsLeadership & Engineering Practices & Lead and mentor a team of developersWork with business and data teams to translate requirements Posting End Date: 22 Jun 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.We Value Equal OpportunityWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
