Route Service Driver - GR

As a Driver, Route Service - GR, you will be responsible for delivering and servicing company rental equipment to job sites/events, as well as refueling diesel light towers.What you’ll do:Provide direct training to newly hired Service Technician III and/or experienced Service Technicians in areas of needConduct daily “tailgate” meetings with attention to daily safety prioritiesParticipate in creating schedules for Service Technician IIIWork closely with departments and managers to address and repair issues with company assets/equipmentWork closely with Dispatch to determine the equipment’s order priority and accurately complete delivery/return logsDeliver, retrieve, and move equipment (light towers, shower trailers, cooling trailers, guard shacks, generators, trash trailers, combo trailers, office trailers, porta johns, etc.)Fuel equipment on location as necessaryFollow and apply prescribed safety procedures and comply with federal lawsFollow appropriate safety procedures when transporting or handling equipmentCommunicate with the dispatcher on the status of job ordersCommunicate with management and other workers via telephone or radiotelephonesPromote available company services and productsPromote clean and safe working conditionsKnowledgeable and supportive of all company policies and directivesOther duties as assignedRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalent1 year of truck driving experience preferred (CDL license not required), and DOT medical card must be obtained prior to commencing employmentA valid driver's licenseSafe driving record and acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR)Must be able to operate a vehicle safely following all traffic laws and signsEffective communication, organization, and planning skillsWork well with Manager and team membersAbility to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision or instructionMultitasking skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracyFollow oral and written instructions, use proper judgmentAbility to perform a job with the knowledge of policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective, local and state operations for the safety data, and propertyOperate machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceMechanical aptitude, Physically able to work in various weather conditionsClimb and lift ladders, able to work around cleaning products and equipment for chemical toilet service and repairLift and carry up to 45 lbs.This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.Why join us?We don’t just “talk the talk!” We’re an award-winning company (recently named a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2026) that truly cares about our people - That’s why we offer best-in-class benefits and perks that will support you and your family.
