As a Lead Route Service Driver at United Rentals, you are responsible for completing daily service routes. This entails servicing, cleaning and stocking portable toilets, holding tanks, fresh water systems, hand wash stations and restroom-shower trailers as needed. You will complete daily routes, while maintaining professional customer contact and open lines of communication with Dispatch. As a Lead Route Driver you will have the opportunity to display your leadership skills by leading and mentoring other Route Service Drivers.What you'll do:Safely operate a Route Service truck dailyVacuum pump, clean and sanitize portable restroom units on customer siteStock/replenish paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap and refill water holding tanksRepair portable restroom units onsite as necessaryProvide onsite moves of equipment, and pick-up/delivery as requestedPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles, maintain truck logsExcellent housekeeping of assigned vehicles and facilityMaintain professional demeanor and appearance at all timesTrain and mentor new/existing Route Service DriversWork closely with Dispatcher on Route Service Driver logistics and route optimizationOther duties assigned as neededRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalencyA valid driver's license and excellent, safe driving recordCDL preferred3 years minimum of truck driving experienceDOT medical card must be obtained prior to commencing employmentLeadership and mentoring skillsBasic knowledge of the construction industry and safe driving proceduresIndustry experience is a plus (training provided)Ability to work some weekends as neededThis position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.Why join us?We don’t just “talk the talk!” We’re an award-winning company (recently named a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2026) that truly cares about our people - That’s why we offer best-in-class benefits and perks that will support you and your family.
