As an Area General Manager at United Rentals, you'll be the leader of a major business enterprise while leading multiple locations in a metro market. You'll have the opportunity to hire and motivate an amazing team in various roles, from sales to service. You will build profitable locations with your business and management skills, ambition and competitive spirit.What you'll do:Lead multiple branch sales and operations activities, including fleet managementEnsure outstanding customer service, productivity and profitabilityResponsible for market share penetrationHire, build and motivate a great team, including performance management, training, development and recognitionProvide P&L oversight of all of branches within the metro market and prepare monthly operation reviews, yearly budgets and moreMonitor location and function performance using available toolsDevelop a strong safety culture and oversee audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations and drug and alcohol testingRequirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience8-10 years of successful business management experience with oversight of multiple units, with profit and loss responsibility5+ years of supervisory experience and proven sales and customer service successProficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft OfficeEffective leadership, motivational, organizational and communication skillsStrong presentation skills, ability to present to all levels in the companyStrong interpersonal skills with emphasis on negotiating, collaborating and conflict resolution.Strong analytical skills; metrics orientedValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordThis position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.Why join us?We don’t just “talk the talk!” We’re an award-winning company (recently named a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2026) that truly cares about our people - That’s why we offer best-in-class benefits and perks that will support you and your family.
