What You Will DoAs a Johnson Controls Service Technician, you will serve as a troubleshooting and service expert responsible for the inspection, repair, and replacement of security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, and card access systems. You’ll ensure customers and internal teams stay informed of system status and inspection results.This is a field-based role where you will be equipped with the tools and support needed to work independently.How You Will Do ItLocate and resolve issues with damaged equipment or wiringRepair, readjust, or replace inoperative equipment and perform operational testsPrepare trouble order forms for temporary repairsCoordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other agenciesService and repair commercial Security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systemsWhat We Look ForRequired:High School Diploma or equivalentMust be willing to join the local unionExperience with fire alarm systems, burglar alarms, CCTV, and card access systemsHands-on experience with alarm systems or low voltage electronicsClean driving record and valid driver’s licenseKnowledge of test equipment such as multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning toolsExperience with inspection, repair, and programming of fire alarm panels and fire suppression systemsComputer literacyAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsCapable of lifting and carrying equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.Comfortable working at heights (up to 40 feet), in confined spaces, or on ladders/scaffoldingWillingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer needsStrong organizational skills and a customer-focused attitudeAbility to maintain truck inventory and respond promptly to customer needsAdherence to safety guidelines and procedures at all timesMust obtain Ohio Fire License with first 6 months and Kentucky Fire Licenses within 1 year of hire.Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug testPreferred:5+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systemsNICET II certificationCurrent Ohio and/or Kentucky Fire LicensePay Range: $19.10 - 31.60 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
