Job description

Overview  Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.This role will be offered to work Friday to Sunday Nightshift (6:00 PM - 5:30 AM). The Electrical Assembler will be responsible for conducting assembly of electronic equipment and troubleshooting circuit problems, while applying theory and related knowledge to install and build or repair electronic equipment as needed. This role will be responsible for recommending and/or initiating equipment modifications and/or replacement of electronic components.Roles & ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints and wiring diagrams and build electronic components from a blueprintMake recommendations for replacement or modification of electronic equipment and repair and/or replace electronic componentsMaintain and calibrate instruments and equipmentSet up and perform circuit testsApply knowledge of current electrical code and CSA standardsEnsure quality of the productPerforms all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and CodeOther duties as requiredKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Effective communication skills. Time management skills. Critical eye for identifying defects.Ability to manage change on the floor and work well with shift supervisorsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeKnowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures. Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds. Must be able to read a tape measure and perform simple mathematical fractional equations. Ability to read blueprints is considered an assetWorking ConditionsCommercial/Industrial environment.Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).Long periods of standing.Overtime as required.ContactsCommunication is internal to the assigned work team, Quality Supervisor, and Engineering and Production teamsJohnson Controls’ Canadian subsidiaries are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to applicants, candidates and employees with disabilities, in accordance with applicable human rights legislation, and in Ontario, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
