PM-II position is responsible for management, or assisting management, of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure project success factors are met. These include but are not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration.This position will develop and execute CAPEX projects in Hydro Generation. These projects can be associated with water retaining structures as well as hydro generation assets.The position is typically assigned a portfolio of “White” or “Green” ranked projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Risk-Informed Project Ranking Process. Higher ranked projects with greater risk may also be assigned when accompanied with an Enhanced Support and Oversight Plan (ESOP).The position is accountable for a portfolio of assigned projects with Low to Moderate levels of risk that impact various levels of the Company, Senior Management or External Agencies. PM-II’s may be assigned projects with specific risk-informed requirements based on specific experience and skill sets.PM-II’s serve as unifying agents providing leadership, decision making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of overall projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of the Company.Progression to this level is based on experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and should align with business unit personnel needs to manage the portfolio.Basic/Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree and 5 years related work experienceIn Lieu of Degree – HS Diploma / GED -9 years related work experienceAdditional Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical EngineeringHydro generation project experience including headgates, generators, turbines, and other hydro equipment or structuresConstruction Management knowledgeProficient to demonstrated Expertise in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem SolvingProject related work experience; Risk Management, Project Leadership, Strong Collaboration, OversightUtility Business Unit Experience as determined by BU ranging from Regulated or Commercial energy services experienceProficient to Expert in project related Scheduling, Cost ControlsWorking ConditionsHybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period.Hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy Hydro Generating StationHybrid employees will be required to work two to three days per week at a Hydro Generating Facility, Hydro Control Facility, or Corporate Headquarters.Specific RequirementsProject Manager II may have relationships with individuals in the following organizations ranging from individual contributors to Senior Department Leadership (i.e. individual contributors up to executive management):• Community Relations• Corporate Communications• Construction Management• Development• Engineering• Enterprise Security• Environmental, Health and Safety• Finance• Fuels• Global Risk Management and Insurance• Human Resources• Legal Department• Operations• Quality• Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE)• Project Controls• Regulatory and Compliance• Stakeholder Engagement• Supply Chain• Others• Sales/Marketing Leadership of external Suppliers/Vendors• Project teams of external Suppliers/Vendors• Regulatory agenciesTravel Requirements15-25%Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable)NoRepresented/Union PositionNoVisa Sponsored PositionNoPlease note that in order to be considered for this position, you must possess all of the basic/required qualifications.PrivacyDo Not Sell My Personal Information (CA)Terms of UseAccessibility
