Our natural setting is enhanced by its modern, attractive, and state-of-the-art classroom buildings and support facilities.PURPOSEThis position is responsible for providing technical leadership and ensure the successful execution of all events held at the Performing Arts Center. The Technical Theatre Manager collaborates closely with faculty, production staff, students, and guest artists to ensure that all systems operate safely, reliably, and to a high professional standard.  RESPONSIBILITIES Functional Area 1: Technical Leadership and Production SupportPercent Effort: 50%Serve as the lead technician and primary point of contact with lights, video, sound, and staging requirements for all events and productions at the TAMU-CC Performing Arts CenterCollaborate with TAMU-CC Faculty/Staff and Rental clients to determine production requirements and ensure that all technical needs are metSupervise full-time technical event specialist staffManage scheduling for PAC technical staff and student workers, ensuring proper event coverage including pre and post event functionsTrain and supervise student technicians in the use of lighting, video, and audio systems.  Provide mentorship and guidance in proper operations and practicesWork with Events Services staff to ensure proper technical support for rental clientsFunctional Area 2: Maintenance, Inventory, and SetupPercent Effort: 40%Oversee and perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of lighting, video, and audio equipment including changing light bulbs in fixtures and maintenance and recommending replacement of equipment.Oversee setup and teardown for events including setting and striking all furniture and equipment needed to facilitate rehearsals, concerts, meetings, and all other events (i.e. stage setups/tear-downs, lobby setups, greenroom, to include chairs, tables, stands, risers, pipe & drape, etc.)Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of lighting and audio systems, including system configurations, patching, signal flow, and equipment inventory.Maintain accurate and organized inventory of all lighting and audio assets, ensuring proper storage, security, and lifecycle management.Functional Area 3: OtherPercent Effort: 10%Assist with PAC marketing and outreach effortsSupport Institutional Advancement efforts as neededPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degreeFive (5) years of related experienceAdditional education and/or experience may be considered as a substitute for the minimum qualifications:High School diploma/GED with nine (9) years of related experienceAssociate’s degree with seven (7) years of related experienceMaster’s degree with three (3) years of related experienceDoctoral degree with one (1) year of related experienceAbility to work extended hours, nights, and/or weekendsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentIntermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working in a Higher Ed or K-12 environmentBachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre or other Performing Arts/Education related disciplineSALARY: $45,000 - $50,000/annually, approximately$3,750 - $4,166.67/monthly, approximatelyNOTE: Employment may be impacted by the Presidential proclamation issued on September 19, 2025 and the moratorium issued by Texas Governor Abbott on January 27, 2026.
