This position leads a team focused on storytelling and strategic marketing content that advances Texas A&M’s brand platform and is responsible for shaping and executing Texas A&M’s storytelling and content strategy across all distribution channels. You may upload them on the application under the CV/Resume section. ResponsibilitiesContent Strategy and LeadershipDrives the development and execution of a cohesive content strategy that aligns with the university’s marketing priorities and institutional goalsMaps content needs to key marketing priorities, identifying opportunities for impactful storytelling and marketing campaignsLeads the editorial calendar strategy, integrating storytelling and marketing content into a master marketing calendarOversees the feature story pipeline, ensuring timely and strategic development of high-value narrativesStrategic Content DevelopmentPrioritizes cornerstone content that establishes credibility, supports thought leadership, and builds emotional connections with diverse audiencesLeads audience-focused content planning for multi-channel distribution, ensuring alignment with owned, paid, and earned media strategies. Plans span the entire content lifecycle from ideation and content creation through distributionDevelops a distribution strategy for sharing content across multiple owned and paid platforms including video, digital, social media, and traditional media in collaboration with channel teamsDevelops processes and guidelines to elevate consistency, quality, and audience engagement across platformsTeam Oversight & Cross-Functional LeadershipGuides the storytelling team to create human-centered, emotive narratives that complement data-driven marketing effortsCollaborates with key stakeholders, including Senior Marcomm leadership, brand, communications, social media, web, visual media, and experiential marketing teams, and academic units, to align content initiatives with institutional prioritiesDevelops and presents briefs to internal and agency creative teams to integrate cross-channel alignment, ensuring marketing campaigns and institutional storytelling initiatives deliver cohesive messaging and harness brand voiceRepresents the Content Strategy team in leadership discussions, advocating for data-informed, audience-centric content initiativesPartners with the Project Management team to streamline content planning and project management processesInnovation & Continuous ImprovementEstablishes and oversees processes to review and refine content strategies, identifying areas for innovation and improvement. Explores new formats and channels to stay ahead of market trendsMonitors content performance metrics, ensuring strategies are adaptable and responsive to audience needs and institutional goalsCultivates a storytelling approach that transforms the team into a “media company” for the institution, emphasizing strategic frequency and measurable impactQualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experienceTen years’ experience in content strategy, marketing, or related fields, including at least three years in a supervisory rolePreferred QualificationsFive years of experience in a supervisory roleProven track record of leading multi-channel content strategies in complex, mission-driven organizations or for a national consumer brandFamiliarity with storytelling strategies for institutional branding, thought leadership, and audience engagementProven success in integrating creative and content functions to drive innovative marketing strategiesKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExpertise in content strategy and brand marketingStrong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and influence senior executivesAbility to align content initiatives with broader institutional goals and marketing strategiesExperience in both functional leadership and enterprise-level thought partnershipStrong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing teamsProven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies and marketing campaignsStrong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creationProficiency in project management and content planning tools, such as Airtable and ClickUpCreative thinker with a keen eye for detail and designAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentPassion for and deep understanding of Texas A&M’s mission, values, and cultureWhy Texas A&M University?We are a prestigious university with strong traditions, Core Values, and a community of caring and collaboration.  Amenities associated with a major university, such as sporting and cultural events, state-of-the-art recreation facilities, the Bush Library and Museum, and much more await you.  Experience al
