We promote student success and community development by providing affordable access, through traditional and distance learning modes, to higher education and workforce training, including appropriate applied baccalaureate degrees, in our service area.As a community college committed to our mission, we seek to recruit and retain a workforce that:Values intellectual curiosity and innovative teachingIs attracted by the college's mission to promote equitable access to educational opportunitiesCares about student success and collaborates on strategies to facilitate success for populations including; first generation college students, low-income students, and students from underserved communities.Focused on student academic achievement and postgraduate outcomesWelcomes difference and models respectful interaction with othersEngages with the community both within and outside of ACCJob Posting Title:FF&E Project ManagerJob Description Summary:To provide project design and coordination in the planning, directing, and construction of a variety of reconfiguration and remodeling projects principally related to furnishings and minor remodeling.Job Description:Description of Duties and TasksPlans, designs, and implements reconfiguration and minor remodeling projects; researches and evaluates options for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for use throughout the district's facilities.Oversees the selection, acquisition, and installation of FF&E in major construction projects.Coordinates FF&E needs of department with department heads and/or other department personnel, outside contracting firms, consultants, and design professionals; coordinates staff moves.Defines project scope, establishes schedules, negotiates contracts following Austin Community College (ACC) guidelines, prepares project budget, monitors purchases, and reviews distribution of funds on single projects as well as multiple concurrent projects.Develops recommendations, maintains, and assists in enforcement of design and system FF&E standards for the district's facilities.Assists with drafting tasks in the department.Oversees the installation of goods and services.Files and tracks warranty claims, repairs, and modifications of existing and surplus furniture.Assists in the development of operating budgets for the department and capital budgets for capital improvement programs.Serves or chairs various committees in the college.KnowledgeArchitecture, interior design, and construction management.Project planning and management principles.Regulations regarding accessibility and hazardous materials found in buildings.Budget preparation, bid and purchasing procedures, FF&E writing of specifications, and expense control.Current government regulations related to safety requirements in this area, building and fire codes, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) related to this area, and any other relevant government rules, regulations, and specifications.SkillsMaintaining an established work schedule.Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.Managing multiple projects and maintaining focus on top priorities.Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy; proactive and collaborative approach with project stakeholders.Effectively using organizational, planning skills, and attention to detail.Negotiating, evaluating, and administering contracts.Strong conceptual and schematic design skills; ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly, both verbally and graphically; problem-solving/analytical skills to move designs forward with minimal direction.Technology SkillsUse a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.Applicable project software such as Auto CAD.Required Work ExperienceTwo years related work experience.Preferred Work ExperienceSix to eight years of Interior or Architectural design with at least four years focused on contract furnishings.Required EducationBachelor's degree.Preferred EducationBachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Construction Management, or related design field from an accredited school.Special RequirementsLicensed as Interior Designer or Architect in the State of Texas (Preferred).Other Preferred QualificationsComprehensive knowledge of design process, systems furniture, educational furniture, and construction documentation.Physical RequirementsWork is performed in a standard office or similar environment.Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.SafetyWork safely and follow safety rules.
