DepartmentHead Women's Basketball CoachSummary: Reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics. This position assists with all aspects of the NCAA Division II women’s basketball program, including coaching, recruiting, operations, and student-athlete development. The Assistant Coach is responsible for adhering to NCAA and RMAC rules and regulations and representing MSU Denver in a professional manner consistent with the program’s philosophy and departmental core values. Duties/Responsibilities: Coaching (40%) – Assist the Head Coach with practices, games, and player development Recruiting (20%) – Support recruiting efforts and assist the Recruiting Coordinator Scheduling (10%) – Assist with team scheduling logistics Practice & Game Management (10%) – Support practice planning and game-day operations Student-Athlete Supervision (20%) – Provide oversight and support for student-athlete development and conduct. Specific Responsibilities: Recruiting Support: Assist with recruiting operations and coordination. Academic Support: Assist Academic Coordinator with grade checks, study hall, and academic monitoring. Social Media Coordination: Manage and maintain team social media platforms. Administrative Duties: Complete travel authorizations, official function reports, and other required documentation Compliance: Complete Monthly Countable Athletically Related Activities (CARA) reports Equipment Management: Order, distribute, and maintain inventory of team equipment. Team Travel Coordination: Manage travel logistics, including itineraries, lodging, transportation, and meals. Community Service Coordination: Organize and oversee team community service initiatives. Position Coaching: Provide position-specific instruction (posts, forwards, or guards), including individual and film sessions. Scouting: Assist with scouting and preparation of game materials Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree, Knowledge of Division II rules Schedule Information.75 FTE 30 hours a weekExempt from overtimeHours: VariesEvenings and Weekend Work: As neededSchedule: In-PersonTravel: As needed Salary for AnnouncementUnder Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position.
