GCU is an institutionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at Grand Canyon University is seeking an innovative faculty member to lead the new Occupational Therapy program.  As a full-time Faculty Program Lead, you’ll be responsible for providing effective leadership for the program, the program faculty, and students to ensure high quality and accreditation/regulatory compliance.  The candidate should value education and interprofessional practice and support the mission of the university.This role is located at our main campus - 33rd and Camelback in Phoenix, ArizonaWhat you will do:Provide leadership, management and administration for the academic program including strategic planning, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation and commitment to strategies for professional development that is in concert with the University’s mission and vision.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators and faculty members and students, as well as external constituencies.Assesses and reports on program metrics, such as faculty workload and scholarly productivity, student satisfaction, program graduates, graduation rates, enrollments, etc. to assure program goals are being metDevelop and provide instruction consistent with the University’s course load requirements for Program Lead faculty that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies and other trends that reflect advances in the requisite discipline educational instructionEngage students within the learning environment to stimulate discussions for collective learning as well as assist and actively mentor students outside classroom hoursIncorporate relevant research resources and experiential activities to support course objectives, lectures and learning outcomesAssess student performance in areas like progress, professional behaviors and academic standing in accordance with University Assessment Practices and accreditation standardsLead the curriculum design and development process as part of a collaborative team; be a sound advocate for change to programs, curriculum and teaching methodologies/pedagogiesMaintain compliance with federal, state, ACOTE, and university policiesMentor and facilitate professional development of faculty and staff along with the ability to work effectively to inspire their energy and creativity.What you need:Doctoral degree (PhD preferred in any related field, including biomedical sciences), OTD or a post-professional occupational therapy doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE)Active, current, unencumbered, unrestricted OT or OTA license in Arizona license or able to obtain an OT or OTA license in Arizona.8 years documented experience in Occupational Therapy as outlined by ACOTE accreditation standards4 years’ experience as a faculty member with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary levelExperience with program accreditation preferredProvides a positive example to faculty and students by supporting the University’s Mission, Doctrinal Statement, and Ethical Position Statement Bonus:Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research and/or publications)Why work at GCU:Exceptional workplace benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401K savings planGenerous time off plan and 11 paid holidaysPaid time off to volunteer in the community or at GCU sponsored eventsFree covered parkingWe also offer full-time employees, their spouses, and dependent children an Education Tuition Discount ProgramFree on-site gyms on campus#INDLOPESUP
