Job Description:Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery, part-time, nightsLocation, Shift & Status, and CompensationLocation: Platte Valley HospitalStatus: Part-time, 24 hours per weekShift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AMPay: $37.17 – $56.17 per hour, dependent upon experienceRole OverviewThe Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN applies the nursing process through the use of technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practice, and coordination with interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.Essential FunctionsAssessConduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, social, psychological, cognitive, developmental, and communication needsGather and evaluate information from patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team membersIntegrate assessment data to support clinical decision-makingPlanDevelop individualized care plans using assessment findings and critical thinkingCollaborate with patients, families, physicians, and care teams to establish goals and care strategiesIdentify education needs and prepare patients for ongoing care, including referrals and follow-up supportImplementCoordinate and delegate care across the interdisciplinary team as appropriateDeliver patient care in alignment with care plans, clinical guidelines, and licensure standardsPrioritize and manage patient care effectively, including time, supplies, and resourcesEvaluateMonitor patient responses to interventions and evaluate progress toward goalsAdjust care plans based on clinical outcomes, patient needs, and feedbackEnsure patient and family satisfaction through continuous reassessment and communicationProfessionalismPromote the nursing profession and support the development of team membersAdhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory standardsPractice within scope of licensure and maintain accurate, timely documentationUnderstand and apply the legal implications of care deliveryMinimum QualificationsCurrent license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practiceValid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of hireBasic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providersRegistered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire datePreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (education will be verified)Note:A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of April 27, 2025Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements in place at the time of their hire or promotionSkills & CompetenciesPatient Care DeliveryNursing FundamentalsInterdisciplinary Team CollaborationClinical DocumentationProfessional Communication & EtiquetteAccountability & OwnershipPatient Care CoordinationCritical Thinking & Clinical JudgmentPatient EvaluationPhysical RequirementsOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.Location:Platte Valley HospitalWork City:BrightonWork State:ColoradoScheduled Weekly Hours:24The hourly range for this position is listed below.
