Great options and great opportunities.NICU nurses at Banner University Medical Center – Tucson have the unique opportunity to be an integral part of Diamond Children’s Medical Center, collaborating closely with Women and Infant Services (WIS), Fetal Surgery, Pediatrics, and a comprehensive Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) program.We are a licensed 36-bed Level IV NICU, providing highly specialized, developmentally sensitive care for critically ill and premature infants. Our unit is designed for both function and comfort, featuring three distinct “neighborhoods,” each with three pods of four bed spaces, as well as two nesting rooms for family rooming-in, particularly for NAS care.As a NICU nurse in our Level IV facility, you’ll care for infants with complex medical needs, including severe cardiac anomalies and surgical conditions, in close collaboration with our expert fetal surgery team. Our family-centered care model emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, involving developmental therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, PT/OT specialists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and 24/7 neonatology support. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements.
