Perioperative Technician-Anesthesiology

Overview: Schedule: Start times from 6a to 8a with end times between 2:30p to 6:30p with on-call and holiday call responsibilities. Shift options: (5) 8hr or (4) 10hr shifts. Assists anesthesia team by creating all IVs and IV setups Previous IV experience helpfulSets up offsite anesthesia cases by transporting gas machines and Pyxis backstands  Team-structured work environment with high amounts of collaboration required  Physically demanding position Job Description Summary: Performs a variety of technical and supportive tasks to assist daily clinical operations. Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies. Job Description: Essential Functions:Prepares operating rooms for surgery by assisting with equipment and supply needs, setup, and routine maintenance.Assists OR team with room turnover, patient beds, and transportation of case carts.Maintains inventory of relevant surgical supplies and equipment.Transports patients, labs, gross specimens, and blood, as necessary.Education Requirement:High School Diploma or equivalent, required.Certifications:BLS Certification, preferred.Skills:Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.Self-starter who requires little or no supervision.Ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.Effective multitasking, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure in a stressful environment.Working knowledge of supply chain or materials management.Working knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures.Experience:Previous health care experience, preferred.Physical Requirements:OCCASIONALLY: Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Climb stairs/ladder, Flexing/extending of neck, Interpreting Data, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Power Tools, Problem solving, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Sitting, Squat/kneelFREQUENTLY: Bend/twist, Fume /Gases /Vapors, MachineryCONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Computer skills, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Hearing acuity, Peripheral vision, Repetitive hand/arm use, Seeing – Far/near, Standing, Walking  "The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
