We have a mission that matters!Description of WorkThe Administrative Specialist I role within Health Services of the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing for the Central Region, involves providing essential human resource and administrative support for Health Services. This position entails the creation and maintenance of reports and personnel/administrative records, ensuring the efficiency and timeliness of processes. The primary responsibilities include managing data for Health Services including hiring packages, assisting in the recruitment of medical staff, communication with outside vendors, report management and offering administrative support for the Health Services team. The Administrative Specialist I is tasked with processing and maintaining various documents, including researching, compiling, and verifying data for review. The role also involves providing general administrative support for human resource functions and handling confidential information. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills are crucial, and effective communication in both oral and written forms with the public and Department Adult Correction staff is required. Collaboration with Healthcare management is integral to ensure the availability of pertinent information and the provision of routine updates on key issues affecting staff. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel) and Outlook is a prerequisite, with additional skills in Smartsheet data entry and review a preference. The Administrative Specialist I will be expected to utilize OPUS, Dashboard, and HERO for data compilation.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Range: $39,244.00 - $68,679.00Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
