Find your next opportunity today!Description of WorkThe Team Lead, Budget and Financial Operations is responsible for overseeing the budgetary, fiscal, and business operations of assigned program areas while demonstrating advanced knowledge of budgeting, financial management, grant administration, and related business functions. This position provides leadership and supervision to budget staff, ensures compliance with federal and state financial requirements, and supports strategic decision-making through financial analysis and operational oversight. The Team Lead may serve on behalf of the Chief Budget Officer in their absence and is responsible for ensuring sound stewardship of state appropriations, federal funds, earned receipts, special funds, and other funding sources.This position provides leadership and oversight for budget, financial, and business operations functions, including supervising and mentoring staff, supporting professional development, and fostering collaboration among business officers, program managers, and stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing and delivering financial training, supporting workforce planning and staffing strategies, providing operational leadership during management absences, and promoting effective communication and consensus-building to achieve organizational goals. The role also oversees the administration of diverse business functions, ensures compliance with policies and procedures, recommends process improvements, and contributes to strategic planning and long-range organizational initiatives.The position manages complex financial activities supported by multiple funding sources, including federal grants, state appropriations, special funds, and earned receipts. Key responsibilities include budget development and administration, financial monitoring and reconciliation, grant management, salary control, forecasting, and year-end closeout activities. The incumbent analyzes financial and operational data, interprets applicable laws and regulations, evaluates funding availability, and develops recommendations to address fiscal and operational challenges. Additionally, the role serves as a resource on financial management practices, cost allocation methodologies, and compliance requirements, ensuring accountability, transparency, and effective stewardship of public resources.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Grade Range: $60,881.00 - $106,544.00  Recruitment Range: $60,881.00 - $91,521.00  Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
