It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. We have a mission that matters!Description of WorkThe NCDAC Support Services Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is seeking an energized and collaborative Accounting Technician II to join the Coastal Region Maintenance Team. This full‑time position is based at the Coastal Region Maintenance Yard in Greenville, NC, and also supports the Piedmont Region Maintenance Team with essential accounting and administrative functions.Key Responsibilities• Review and process expense vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and financial documents.• Maintain accurate financial accounting data and reporting records.• Prepare and verify financial statements and related documentation.• Provide administrative support to regional maintenance teams.• Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned accounting tasks.Schedule & Work LocationThis is an on‑site, 40‑hour per week role with state benefits. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with occasional weekend work as needed.Work Location and ScheduleKnowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Grade Range: $35,596.00-$62,294.00 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Night Before the End DateAbout the Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM)The Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) coordinates all North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) construction and renovation efforts, working closely with the State Construction Office to bring projects to life. We represent the department on key property and building matters while keeping facilities running smoothly through expert support for mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and other essential systems.
