It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.Description of WorkThis Assistant Unit Manager position is located in the Asheville EIPD Unit which consists of both Vocational Rehabilitation and Independent Living Services. This supervisory position is an internal professional assistant supervisor who assists the Unit Manager with organizing and directing the delivery of quality EIPD services in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, and Transylvania counties and Independent Living services in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, McDowell, Polk, Rutherford, and Transylvania counties. This Assistant Unit Manager will provide leadership and supervision to assigned staff and back-up supervision to all VR/IL staff in the absence or unavailability of designated supervisory staff in the unit and satellite offices. The AUM will work closely with the Asheville Management Team to ensure that clients continue to receive quality and timely service during caseload vacancies. Work in this role will include planning, implementing and evaluating all components of a multi-faceted rehabilitation program consisting of multiple caseloads, third-party and community rehabilitation programs. Special projects may be assigned by the Unit Manager in order to meet the rehabilitation needs of individuals served.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Grade Range $57,983 - $101,470 Recruitment Range $57,983 - $75,000**Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours**Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
