JOB DESCRIPTIONRole:This position manages the sales and profitability performance of assigned product categories, vendors and SKU’s thru analysis and collaboration with our sales and marketing teams along with our vendor partners.Role Responsibilities:Provides sales product information where requiredInfluences sales decisions toward profitable items (Sysco brand, Sourced, etc)Participates in sales trainingsParticipates in General Sales Meeting’s (GSM’s) to support category growth aligned with corporate and regional directionWorks with marketing on customer facing sales promotionsWorks with Business Resources team on customer facing opportunitiesUses market intelligence to create relevant sales quotationsDecision maker for product offerings and statusRationalizes SKU’s to optimize warehouse needsExecutes corporate partnership strategies to drive Sysco Brand and Sourcing growthEstablishes market and sales rep cost in collaboration with Revenue ManagementSupports procurement in aged/overstock/deadstockResolves vendor discrepancies and conflictsNegotiates local program agreementsFacilitates item and vendor setupsResponsible for the management and execution of Vendor cost ChangesComplies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):Minimum 1 year of merchandising/category management or marketing experience.Experience in retail or foodservice sales is an asset.Post secondary education in related field preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products.Ability to foster strong relationships with vendors, internal departments to drive sales, resolve issues and create a competitive advantageStrong negotiation, organizational, decision making and presentation skillsHigh degree of integrity and accountability; handles significant amount of proprietary information and process. Trust is essential.Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition, i.e. conflicts/ambiguity and during negotiations.Must have solid understanding of products within their category as it pertains to features & benefits, advantages, category trends, and Vendors associated with their category.Valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is requiredSome local travel may be required (up to 10%)Physical DemandsReasonable accommodations will be taken where necessaryTravel RequirementsUp to 25%Salary Range72,000 - 95,000Sysco is committed to Employment Equity.
