This is a full-time position within the Student Life and Leadership Development Department.Responsibilities:Support student organization development by providing advising, training, budgeting guidance, and leadership development resources to enhance student engagement and success.Develop, implement, and assess student engagement initiatives, leadership programs, and recognition efforts that promote student learning, involvement, and campus community.Advise and supervise the University Activities Board and student staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating campus programs; manage budgets, logistics, and compliance requirements.Develop and implement marketing, communications, and outreach strategies to promote student engagement opportunities, including social media, newsletters, and event promotion.Design, implement, and assess professional development and recognition programs for student employees, including onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement initiatives in collaboration with campus partners.Minimum Qualifications:The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of professional experience or three (3) years of professional experience and demonstrated knowledge of student affairs/services, student development, leadership development, campus activities, and/or college student personnel.Understanding of policy, process, and procedures relevant to student support services, adult learning, leadership development, events coordination/management and/or student employment supervision and training.Demonstrated strength of written and/or verbal communications and knowledge of advising, communication, and/or public relations skills required to interact continually with students, academic advisors, department administrators and other stakeholders.Demonstrated knowledge and experience with conflict management skills, quality improvement, and problem-solving.Demonstrated experience with budget management and appropriate fiscal responsibility.Demonstrated problem solving skills in a complex environment.Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse environment.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in student affairs, higher education, student personnel, student development, or other relevant area or experience.Two (2) years of professional experience working within a university environment.Experience with leadership development theory, practice, and application to diverse student populations, including post-traditional, adult, and commuter undergraduate students.Ability to collaborate and outreach to students, staff, faculty, and other stakeholders to enhance departmental programming.Physical Requirements of the Job:Some sitting, walking, standing, and moving items up to 25 pounds.The University:Metro State University empowers learners to transform their lives and communities through relevant, student-centered education in an inclusive, anti-racist, and supportive learning environment.Metro State University provides an excellent, inclusive, and engaging education to eliminate opportunity gaps and empower our students to lead our communities to a prosperous and equitable future.
