Job Posting Title:Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Specialties----Hiring Department:Dell Medical School----Position Open To:All Applicants----Weekly Scheduled Hours:40----FLSA Status:Non-Exempt from FLSA----Earliest Start Date:Immediately----Position Duration:Expected to Continue----Location:AUSTIN, TX----Job Details:PurposeThe Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Specialties provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction. Reporting to the Clinic Supervisor, the RN collaborates closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and administrative staff. Key responsibilities include patient assessments, administering medications, coordinating care plans, and educating patients and their families.ResponsibilitiesPatient Assessment and Care PlanningConducts initial patient assessments and obtains medical histories.Develops and implements individualized care plans.Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as needed.Medication AdministrationAdministers prescribed medications and treatments.Ensures proper dosage and compliance with treatment regimens.Monitors patients for adverse reactions and reports findings.Patient EducationEducates patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options.Provides guidance on self-care techniques and preventive health measures.Conducts follow-up education sessions as needed.Clinical ProceduresPerforms minor medical procedures such as wound care and suture removal.Assists physicians with diagnostic tests and minor surgeries.Prepares and maintains sterile environments for procedures.Documentation and CoordinationDocuments patient care in electronic health records (EHR).Coordinates with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care.Manages patient appointments and follow-up careRequired QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited programAt least 1 year(s) of experience in outpatient or clinical setting.Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.At least 2 year(s) of experience in healthcare environment.Salary Range$82,000 + depending on qualificationsWorking ConditionsStandard office equipmentRepetitive use of a keyboardMay be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications and disoriented or combative patients, or othersRequired MaterialsResume/CV3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisorLetter of interestImportant for applicants who are NOT current university employees or contingent workers: You will be prompted to submit your resume the first time you apply, then you will be provided an option to upload a new Resume for subsequent applications.
