Heat Treat Supervisor

Job Description:The shift Supervisor will report to the production manager and is responsible for directly managing and leading the shift to meet the expectations of ITW and its customers. This leadership position will also be responsible for supporting employees to achieve department metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and sustainability.  The shift supervisor will serve as the primary communication contact between the leadership team and production employees. Primary Key Responsibilities Effectively lead and manage the performance and development of a team of direct reports Develop process understanding and find ways to improve Manage employee relations, complete annual performance evaluations, lead new hire onboarding training initiatives Monitor and manage employee schedules and attendance Monitor Heat Treat Inventory and Ordering Heat Treat Supplies Lead and/or support corrective action processes  Responsible for leading safety initiatives, emergency response and other safety activities as required Work closely with peers and other departments to improve safety, quality, and productivity  Collaborate with group leader to set shift expectations  Communicate with the production control, customer service, and management team regarding high priority tasks as well as communicate shift performance and current issues to be addressed  Responsible for ensuring employees have resources needed to perform jobs successfully. Lead and participate in USa projects for continuous improvement. Monitor KPI’s for manufacturing optimization. Other responsibilities as needed QualificationsMinimum Qualifications/Requirements Minimum of High School Education  Prior leadership or supervisory experience required BS Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or related degree preferred Experience in manufacturing environment required Lean Six Sigma experience preferred Strong leadership characteristics Self-motivated Takes initiative to continuously learn Thrives on the success of others and the team Adapts quickly to new situations and circumstances Thrives in ambiguous situations Self-aware, recognizes his/her strengths and development needs Able to build strong relationships with others both internally and externally Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment Demonstrated planning and organization skills Strong leadership and communication skills Strong computer skills; proficient with MS Office Suites Developer of talent Strong problem-solving abilities and corrective action understanding PHYSICAL DEMANDS                                       The physical demand described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
