Job Description:The Extruder Operator supports the Lead Operator and Shift Supervisor in the setup, operation, and monitoring of extrusion equipment. This role is responsible for material handling, basic machine support, quality checks, and maintaining a safe, clean and efficient work environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist Lead Operator and Shift Supervisor to operate the extrusion line on assigned shiftAssist with machine setup, startup, and shutdown proceduresLoad raw materials (resins, additives, colorants) into hoppers and feedersMonitor extrusion lines for proper operation and notify Lead Operator of any issuesPerform basic quality checks (visual inspections, measurements) on productsRemove, package, and label finished products according to specificationsSupport changeovers, including cleaning and preparing tooling and equipmentKeep work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standardsFollow all safety procedures and wear required PPETransport materials and finished goods (may use pallet jacks or forklifts if certified)Assist maintenance and operators with minor troubleshooting and adjustmentsMinimum Required Skills and EducationHigh school diploma or GED1+ years of experience working on machines in a manufacturing environmentMust be able to effectively read, write and communicate in EnglishAbility to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Strong attention to detail Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to operate and maintain extrusion equipmentMust be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basisPerform repetitive hand and arm movements for machine adjustments and material handlingGood visual acuity and manual dexterity for reading gauges, monitoring controls, and inspecting product qualityComfortable working in a factory environment with heat, noise, and moving machineryAbility to wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwearMust be able to climb stairs or ladders and work at various heights as neededTolerance for standing and performing tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing settingCompensation Information:$26-$27ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
