Job DescriptionWORK ARRANGEMENT:This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Bedford, IN on a full-time basis.ROLE OVERVIEW: The IMM (Indirect Materials Manager) has the primary responsibility for fulfilling indirect material requirements to support maintenance, facilities, and ME requirements, managing inventory levels to agreed targets.Key activities include approval and creation of purchase requests, confirmation of PO’s, tracking of deliveries, setting and optimizing safety stock targets, maintenance of indirect material part set ups, handling of receiving discrepancies, and indirect material shortage and expedite management and communication.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages a 3rd Party team and UAW unionized laborersCreates and approves purchase requests for crib and POU-stocked indirect materialsWorks with plant personnel and Master Data Management to support coding and extension of new parts to the plantAssists plant teams to ensure that supplier-provided spare parts and/or previously purchased engineering/launch parts are considered in initial requirementsWorks with WRA(Warrant Repair Administrator), Share-the-Spare, and plant teams to avoid the purchase of new parts when excess and/or repairable parts may be availableUtilizes and integrates AI tools and innovation for data management efficiency and quality improvementsEnsures supplier receipts and delivery of PO requirementsManages incoming supply vs. indirect material stock & requirements and adjusts as requiredManages indirect material expedites and communicate material supply risks with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and FacilitiesReviews indirect material part set-ups including shipment lead-time, terms, safety stock/time, standard packagingSupports ME and Maintenance teams during launch and end-of-life (EOL) to optimize indirect material inventoryWorks with Suppliers to improve lead-time performance, reduce MOQ(Minimum Order Quantity) impacts, and improve supplier on-time deliveryReviews pricing discrepancies versus system and actual invoices that Accounting Department providesWorks closely with and covers for other MRP Planners as required without assistanceActively works with plant teams and Shared Purchasing Services (SPS) to find opportunities to improve efficiency (reduce inventory) and increase material and spend visibilityConducts monthly continuous improvement activities for their parts portfolio including ROP/Max adjustments, over-max reduction and root cause analysis, POU turn and stocking corrections, obsolete and not planned (ND) management, and trend analysisOptimizes inventory levels (Min/Max) based on usage dataCommunicates with all levels of leadership and plant personalGENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Follows work procedures, work schedules, and expedites workflowMonitors and maintains GMS standardsSupports BPD / Scorecard achievementInternal Controls compliance for their functionFollows written and oral instructions and follows standard procedures to improve efficiency.Maintains and updates plant TIS’sReviews & Improves WPO across departmentOversees Vendor Managed Inventory Programs (Fasteners, vending POUs, Shoe program)SAFETY:Promote, educate, communicate, and follow up on safety initiativesMaintain housekeeping in areaResponsible for the proper use and care of equipmentManage SCM process for 3rd party resources when applicablePerform Annual Safety EvaluationPerform weekly (audit) of SOT's (Safety Observation Tours)Complete safety orientation checklists for new employeesPEOPLE:People engagement & relationship building with the customer and team are essentialMentoring where required from floor to officeMaintains safety, attendance, and vacation recordsManages 3rd party resourcesSupervise GM hourly employees and maintain timekeeping (UKG) when applicableAddress hourly training and discipline when applicableUnderstand local UAW agreementCoordinates activities of crib attendants & indirect receiving personnelPractices good labor relations, complies and enforces local agreementTrains, develops, and evaluates employees and coach 3rd party employeesCommunication liaison between plant and customerConduct layer audits for crib and Point of Use area’sRESPONSIVENESS:Responsible for processing hourly work elements in support of any BPD and planning initiativesOff shift support for critical plant issues (24x7)Weekend support for critical plant issues (24x7)Responsible to develop and implement a support plan to address critical plant issues while on leaveAnalysis checklist completed for all stock-outs and problem solving for major stock-outCOST:Keep work group budget on trackSupport the department’s cost reduction initiatives and gap closure requirementsComplete FIFO audit for items with expiration datesMaintain and achieve cost goal targetSupport plant cost counsel accounts: 2000, 3000, 5000, 9000QUALITY:Maintain cycle count
