The TRC has a major focus on exploiting BMS’ expertise in protein degradation to discover and develop therapies aimed at tumor intrinsic vulnerabilities and mechanisms of resistance to existing cancer therapeutics. This focus on protein degradation allows us to attack protein classes that were previously deemed undruggable.Position Responsibilities In the role as a Sr Associate Scientist within Molecular Pharmacology group, the ideal candidate:Develop and execute a range of assays to support structure–activity relationship (SAR) studiesDesign and implement biochemical and cell-based assays to enable target validation and mechanism-of-action (MOA) investigationsAnalyze, interpret, and present data in team meetings and potentially cross-functional forumsCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive project progress and achieve program objectivesExperience = Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree4+ years of academic and / or industry experienceOrMaster’s Degree2+ years of academic and / or industry experiencePreferred Qualifications: Technical and Scientific ExperienceAdvanced cell culture skills with hands-on experience in cell engineering and gene editing, including CRISPR, RNAi, gene overexpression, and lentiviral transductionExpertise in cell-based assays and high-throughput screening (HTS), including cell proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis, 3D sphere formation, and senescenceExperience with molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry techniques, such as qPCR, immunofluorescence, Western blot, ELISA, MSD, and FACSExperience in MOA studies using integrative multi-omic approaches, including preparation of samples for proteomic, transcriptomic, and chromatin-binding studiesFamiliarity with key aspects of SAR support using a variety of biological assaysProven publication record as a major contributor or author is a plusAbility to design, plan, and execute scientific experiments with moderate supervisionStrong attention to detail and ability to follow laboratory procedures and execute bench experimentsProficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including MS Office and GraphPad PrismProfessional Skills and Work RequirementsHighly motivated, innovative, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environmentStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsAbility to deliver high-quality data in a timely and well-organized mannerFlexibility to support business needs, including occasional weekend work, early starts, late end times, and learning new skill sets and techniquesThis position requires primarily on-site presence#LI-OnsiteIf you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
