We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health!Organization:SDMC-Sutter Delta Medical CenterPosition Overview:The primary role of the Emergency Room Technician is to perform various patient care activities to assist the Emergency Department Nursing personnel and physicians and to care for the personal needs of the patients. The Emergency Department Technician performs non-clinical activities and other unit tasks as delegated by the Staff RN to support the interdisciplinary care team. This is a variable shift position.Job Description:These Principal Accountabilities, Requirements and Qualifications are not exhaustive, but are merely the most descriptive of the current job. Job Description modifications for union represented position are subject to CBA guidelines.EDUCATIONHS Diploma or equivalent education/experience requiredLICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONSBasic Life Support Certification - BLSEmergency Medical Technician - EMTOR Licensed Paramedic - LPEXPERIENCEAcute care hospital experience as an Emergency Room Technician or similar experience preferredSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEDemonstrated knowledge of basic patient care skills, various medical procedures, views, and equipment.Ability to recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate action.Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.Job Shift:Day/Evening/NightSchedule:Per Diem/CasualShift Hours:12Days of the Week:VariableWeekend Requirements:One Weekend Shift a monthBenefits:NoUnions:YesPosition Status:Non-ExemptWeekly Hours:0Employee Status:Per Diem/CasualSutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Pay Range is $34.24 to $43.01 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
