Windows Systems Administrator

Windows Systems Administrator 3+ year contract - potential conversion $50-58/hr W2 based on experience Atlanta, GA (mainly remote but seeking local) This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting Windows server platforms. Ability to troubleshoot obscure issues is a must. Knowledge of Windows operating systems and related system software such as Active Directory, OSD, DFS, Microsoft SQL Clustering, Hyper-V, and VMware. This is a 7x24x365 support organization and some after-hours work is required. On call once every 4 months. Installation, maintenance, and lifecycle replacement of Windows server operating systems.Developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software componentsPerforming installation, maintenance, and support of system software/hardware and user supportConfiguring, debugging, and supporting multiple infrastructure platformsPerforming high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measuresProvide second-level support to other areas both within and outside of IT.Follow standard processes for hardware, software and project completion, problem resolution and change management.Diagnose and resolve problems to meet service level expectations.Participate in departmental initiatives.Communicate progress, problems, and best practices to management, leads and teammates. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS/BA in Computer Science or MIS is desired or equivalent work experience10+ years developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software componentsExperience in performing installation, maintenance, and support of system software/hardwareSkills in configuring, debugging, and supporting infrastructure platformsAbility to perform high-level root-cause analysis and create preventive measuresStrong experience and knowledge of Windows server operating systemsSolid foundational knowledge of Hyper V and VMware environmentsBasic knowledge of compliance and security policiesAbility to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Operating Systems on virtual and physical platforms.
