Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.About the Role: Are you a highly skilled and driven engineer passionate about solving the hardest power challenges in autonomous systems? Anduril is seeking an Integrated Power Systems Engineer/Technician to design, develop, and deliver robust, efficient, and mission-critical power solutions for our rapidly expanding portfolio of maritime portfolio. This is not just about putting a battery in a box; it's about pioneering the power backbone for systems that operate longer, perform better, and survive in the harshest environments. Your day to day will include integrating, testing, and troubleshooting some of the most advanced systems in the defense industry. This role is hands-on, requiring you to assemble detail components and sub-assemblies, diagnose issues on the floor in real-time, and collaborate with teammates to accelerate and advance our capabilities.Anduril’s Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team is responsible for rapidly developing and implementing manufacturing technologies, processes, and materials for cutting-edge defense hardware. The team is developing deployable static and moving surfaces, undersea and sea to air vehicles, and scaling these products in our new manufacturing facilities. What You'll Do: System Assembly & Integration: Assemble, install, and integrate components of power systems (including power generation, energy storage, power conversion, and distribution) into new and existing product lines, following engineering designs and specifications. Power Conversion & Distribution: Build, test, and calibrate power electronics modules (DC-DC converters, AC-DC rectifiers, inverters), verifying their performance against established specifications and documenting results. Intelligent Power Management Support: Assist engineers in the setup and testing of power management systems, verifying functionality, collecting data, and troubleshooting hardware related to dynamic power allocation and fault detection. Thermal Management Implementation: Install, test, and troubleshoot cooling solutions for high-power components (batteries, power electronics, motors), ensuring proper assembly and operation as per engineering guidelines. Integration & Interfacing: Perform electrical and mechanical integration of power systems with motors, sensors, computing units, and communication systems. Verify correct wiring, connections, and basic functionality. Controls Integration: bridges the gap between electrical hardware and automated control software. They design, program, and commission systems (like PLCs, SCADA, and HMI) that manage power distribution, ensuring machinery and energy systems operate reliably, efficiently, and safely Drive Tuning: tunes drives by optimizing variable frequency drive (VFD) and motor parameters—such as PI gains, acceleration rates, and torque limits—to ensure peak performance, energy efficiency, and operational stability Electric Motor Integration: combining a motor with its drive electronics, controller, and/or mechanical components (like gears) into a single, compact unit Rigorous Testing & Validation Execution: Execute detailed test plans for performance, safety, and reliability across various environmental conditions (temperature, vibration, shock, ingress protection), meticulously collecting and documenting all test data. EMI/EMC Pre-Compliance Support: Set up test equipment and conduct EMI/EMC pre-compliance and full compliance tests under engineering supervision, accurately recording test results. Safety & Compliance Adherence: Adhere strictly to established safety protocols, industry standards, and military specifications during the assembly, testing, and maintenance of all power systems. Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate effectively with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers, as well as production teams, by providing hands-on support, feedback on build processes, and data from testing activities. Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience and certifications. 7+ years of hands-on experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of power electronics and electrical systems. Functional understanding of common power conversion topologies (e.g., buck, boost, flyback) and ability to interpret schematics. Experience with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS). Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings. Proficiency with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and electronic loads. Experience with data collection and basic analysis of power system performance metrics. Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and power systems, identifying components and issues based on test results. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. Must be a U.S. Person. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with high-voltage and/or high-power electrical systems (kW range). Familiarity with advanced semiconductor c
