Site ManagerCompany: Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections CompanyLocation: Kenai, AKSalary: $95,000–$105,000 annuallyIncentives: Cash and equity bonus opportunitiesPosition OverviewAlaska Waste is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead daily operations at our Kenai and Seward, AK locations. This role is responsible for overseeing personnel, equipment, safety, compliance, customer relations, and financial performance. The Site Manager works closely with the District Manager to drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and support both short‑ and long‑term site growth.This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong operational, financial, and people-management skills who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all site personnel, including drivers, mechanics, and transfer station staff; responsible for hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actionsSchedule employees, equipment, and third‑party contractors to ensure efficient completion of daily operations and facility projectsMaintain a strong safety culture by executing safety programs, setting safety goals, and ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)Conduct regular field inspections and audits to ensure proper work practices and regulatory complianceOversee complex compliance programs, including environmental, DOT, OSHA, and local permitting requirementsPartner with the District Manager to develop and execute short‑term and long‑term operational and growth plansMonitor budgets and operating metrics; participate in regular P&L reviews to manage labor, material, and equipment costsImplement programs to improve equipment utilization, maintenance, and overall operational efficiencyInteract with customers, local municipalities, and county representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiencyCoordinate with state and local regulatory agencies to ensure effective compliance with applicable rules and regulationsReceive, review, and resolve customer complaints related to collection and site operationsQualificationsRequired:Prior supervisory or management experience in the solid waste industryStrong financial acumen, including experience managing P&L, budgets, and forecastsPrevious leadership experience in a transportation or operations-driven environmentKnowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulationsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accountabilityComputer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word, and ability to learn company-specific systemsAbility to communicate effectively in EnglishPreferred:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience2+ years of managing teams in a people-driven environmentWillingness to relocate in the future for growth opportunitiesTo be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at www.wasteconnections.com .
