Employee satisfaction is part of our culture.About the Position:This 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds in a timely manner; ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines and reliability goals are met. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and mentors other Ryder technicians on a regular basis. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) provides the highest level of experience and expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair. The position also plays a key role in the leadership, development and training of other grade technicians. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) may specialize in areas such as: refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems, etc., and should possess a combination of extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and/or multiple Ryder Qualifications.Type: Full-Time, PermWage: $40 per hour + $1.00 per hour afternoon shift premiumLocation: Kitchener, ONShifts: 2-week rotating shift: Dayshift is M to F, 6:30am to 3:00pm, Afternoon shift is M to F, 2:30pm to 11:00pmWhy Ryder:Ryder has been Recognized by Forbes as one of Canada's Best Employers in 2025Weekly pay.10 days of Paid Time Off upon hireExcellent benefits package after 30 days (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Benefits including Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) and Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP)Employee discount of 15% on Ryder stockA safe, friendly and respectful work environmentEssential FunctionsPerforms vehicle maintenance and repair duties upon Tire and Wheel, Brakes-Air, Brakes-Hydraulic, A/C, Heater & Refrigeration, Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates, Cranking System: (Electrical), Lighting System, Electrical Accessories, Clutch, Cooling Systems, Drive Axles, Drive Line, Diesel and Gas Engines - All Engines, Fuel Systems, Steering and Non-Driven Axles, Suspension-Chassis And Cab, Vehicle Coupling System (PM) etc.Coaches/mentors other level techniciansAdvise shop management and other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.Performs facility maintenance duties.Utilizes key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available.Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, dot, mot)Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to service island support.Skills and AbilitiesStrong mechanical skills. Ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systems. Perform all entry level tasks, road test vehicles as necessaryAbility to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated.Strong verbal and written communication skillsHighly thorough and dependable.
