DescriptionThis position can be located at a Huntington office location within MS, AR, AL, LA, TN.Position OverviewAs a member of Huntington’s Public Capital team, the colleague will be responsible for developing and maintaining profitable municipal lending relationships within an assigned geographic territory. Key responsibilities include:Develop and manage municipal lending relationships within the assigned territoryBuild and maintain relationships with key centers of influence, including: Municipal attorneys, Municipal advisors, Vendors, Government and industry associationsIdentify and uncover direct and indirect municipal lending opportunitiesReview municipal financial statements and assess credit qualityStructure and price municipal leases and loansPartner with the portfolio management team to support underwriting and credit approvalCollaborate with sales coordinators to manage documentation, closing, and customer servicingDeepen customer relationships by uncovering needs and referring opportunities to other areas of the bankMaintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline and proactively work opportunities to closePartner effectively with credit and risk colleagues to ensure sound deal executionIdentify and mitigate credit risk while adhering to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsDemonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and skill developmentParticipate in community service, including potential service on nonprofit boardsAttend industry conferences and actively build relationships across the municipal finance communityBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree5+ years of experience in municipal bond or public lendingPreferred QualificationsProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targetsDemonstrated success within the municipal or public finance industryHistory of exceeding lending production goals, including call activity, new customer acquisition, loan funding, portfolio profitabilityDisciplined, motivated self-starter able to manage business development with minimal oversightStrong ability to analyze municipal financial statementsActive involvement in community and/or nonprofit organizationsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointProven negotiation skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills#LI-DK1#CMLExempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay)YesWorkplace Type:OfficeOur Approach to Office Workplace TypeCertain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
